I stayed in unit 138 & here were the issues… 1. The toilet was noisy & never stopped running. 2. The hot tub took forever to fill because the water came out with low pressure. 3. The building itself had a stale smell when I walked in & it was really unpleasant. 4. There was no option to choose a higher floor at the time of booking so I was forced to take a 1st floor room at the time of check in. 5. The breakfast was not good & the pancakes tasted like rubber. 🤮 6. Room was very overpriced considering the conditions.
Very dated hotel. My toilet seat had turned yellow, and the toilet bowl has stains in it. There is no closet, no ability to hang your clothes. Wifi didn't work, thank goodness I could hotspot my phone. On the bright side, the carpet was new and so was the AC unit -- looks like they are slowly refreshing the place.
Nasty place to stay. Our room had multiple broken lifted tiles in the bathroom floor along with a moldy shower and a moldy hole next the the base of the tub. We had a double queen rooms with a sleeper sofa that was broken and could not be slept on. We also took our kids down to the pool where there were big cockroaches running around the pool as well as bugs in the pool. Our room was conjoined to a family members room who had a cockroach on their wall. After bringing multiple issues up with several staff members all they had were several excuses for each complaint we had. Nothing was done about any of the issues as they acted like this isn’t the first time hearing of the same complaints from other past guests. Spend your money at one of the neighboring hotels. Do not stay here at the Holiday Inn Express in Sherman, TX.
Hard to find the entrance late at night but that could have been the driver fatigue. They are doing renovations which is very much needed. The front desk lady was friendly and welcoming. The bed was very high off the ground and at 5’3” I struggled to get Into it. The room was very dated, not so fresh and a little musty. I hope this isn’t an already updated room. Good enough for the night we had to stay though. There aren’t any better choices in Sherman from what I could tell.
We are in town for a funeral and found a huge cockroach in our room. We informed the front desk and they said they would send maintenance up. We waited for 45 minutes and he did not show up. We happened to run into him on our way out and his response was “oh that’s neat”. When we told the front desk about this the response we got was oh that was rude.. very unprofessional.
