After waiting for over 3 weeks for a callback from Lowe's we decided to try a 'local' company. We called JOHNSON'S HEAT AND AIR in Calera on Monday to request a Quote. Mr. Johnson came out the same day and by noon on Wednesday (same week) our new HVAC system was completely installed and working great! They are very professional, on time and offer competitive pricing for a quality system. Mr. Johnson was even tolerant of my 2 ankle-biting Chihuahuas that barked the entire time they were here! This company was recommended by my mother-in-law because she had used them for years, but unfortunately I did not have a good experience. I called to set up a time for someone to come look at our AC because it was blowing warm air. Issue #1: I was told that anything after 5 pm would require time and half ($80 regular service call jumps to $120). Okay, that’s understandable. I left work in Denison at 3:35 and called the office, told them I was on my way home and would arrive at 3:55. She said no problem she had just sent my number to the technician (at 3:30) who would call to confirm. I arrive home and wait. At 4:10 he calls and says he’s on his way he was just leaving Calera. He arrived at my home at 4:30. He inspected the AC inside our home and outside our home and came to the conclusion we had a Freon leak in the evaporator coil inside the home and one in the outside unit. He would call tomorrow with an estimate to replace unit. He left at 5:30. So he was at my home for one hour. I was at home at 4:00, he didn’t arrive until 4:30 (our appointment was set for 4:00). Since he stayed for one hour, had he arrived at our scheduled time, he would have left at 5:00. I was charge $120 (time and a half) because it was after 5:00 when he left. I was home at 4:00, why should I pay extra because he was running late? Issue #2: His Freon test was inaccurate. He had the AC running while checking for a leak inside the home. The next day we called a different HVAC company to get a second opinion and we DID NOT have a leak on the inside and did not need an entire new unit. We did have a leak outside and had the outside unit replaced. So instead of $6800 for new inside/outside unit that wasn’t necessary, we paid $3500 for a new outside unit the same day they came out to check the system. I’m sorry but I cannot recommend this company.
Levi came out within a cpl hours from my call and was exceptionally knowlegable and shared several tips so we don't go through a "hotter than fried hell" night again!! Love using local and will def recommend and use again if necessary!! Thank you, Cheryl!
This company is great! I called and got serviced the very same day! Not only was the service quick but it was affordable🙂. And the service members explained everything. I will never use any one else again!
Been doing business for 18 years. he's been great and even fixed another companies screw up on my daughters house. he done the installation in my oldest daughters house also. i wouldn't call anyone else.
