Place of OK. Rooms were clean. The bathroom was also very clean. The bed was good, and I didn't wake up with a backache. They had hot breakfast, and I passed. I usually don't like hotels' hot breakfast. Every now and then, I find some good breakfast.
Where do I start. When we tried to check in, the clerk did not come out of her office for at least 5 minutes. After finally getting checked in, we went to our room only to find fliers along the walls and doors stating they had a bug problem. The hallway on the second floor to our room was hot and smelled musty. We finally entered our room only to find trash around the bed on the floor. There were several small "bugs" on the floor in the bathroom as well. My wife did not want to sleep under the covers for fear of bed bugs so off to Walmart to buy a blanket. We then went to the pool/hot tub area only to find the pool water was way too cold to swim. The hot tub was hot but there were no jets or bubbles. I went to turn the timer on only to find the timer was hanging out of the wall with the wires exposed. Not good practice to have exposed electrical wires in the pool area. The next morning I went to get their breakfast. Bad move. The scrambled eggs were hard and appeared to be at least a couple of days old. As for the biscuits and gravy, the biscuits were hard as a rock and the gravy was lumpy, cold and had the consistency of glue. The orange juice was passed it's prime and had a foul taste. Quite possibly the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel, especially one that was priced as much as this one was. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!!!
The building is h set renovation on the first floor, not a big deal unless they put you on the first floor. The work continued after 10pm and the noise was too much. The staff was very accommodating though and quickly moved us once we asked. Cleanliness, amenities, and consideration do not seem to be on the top of the list. If there was any other hotel we would have moved.
Really the only hotel in Commerce, TX. However, the rooms are very overpriced for what you get. The TVs are ancient and every channel has static in the picture. The beds and linens seemed clean but the walls and curtains were absolutely filthy. The only thing keeping this place in business is there isn't another hotel in town. For $120 per night for a double and $100 for a single you would expect a clean room.
This hotel did not give me the room I booked through Expedia and when we complained we booked two beds, they were rude to us and made it known that they didn’t appreciate that I booked through Expedia. The staff lied and said they were booked when clearly the parking lot was not indicative of being completely booked. We will never stay at this hotel again. Spend more money for anything else or you’ll be sorry if you stay here!
